Saturday, June 26, we met in the Troostwood Commons Park at 49th and Troost for out 4th Earth Day. Three EcoKids were present. The director was very anxious and a bit depressed. I was so grateful for the three kids who came and performed even though we were in full sun on a very hot day. We waited for forty five minutes for the neighbors to round up more audience. We shortened the play so it could be somewhat effective. We also incorporated some members of the audience into the cast. We received a lot of good comments.
The audience was made up of about 25 neighbors. Troostwood is a well organized neighborhood and they handed out our flyer with their own newsletter. The literature was put out on tables however it was too hot to think of much besides cold drinks and shade. We plugged into the town home complex for electricity for tools and sound system.
Thanks to Joel Kraft and several neighbor volunteers who helped us set up and break down.
